Lahir 18 Juni 1959 di Kediri (Jawa Timur), sekolah dasar sampai menengah atas di Bandung, pendidikan S1 dan S2 di ITB bidang aplikasi MESA (Maximum Energy Spectral Analysis) untuk Analisa Periodisitas Curah Hujan Maksimum dan Minimum dan Analisa Arah Kompresi Tektonik Global, pendidikan Master of Physics di Macquarie University bidang Large Bandgap Semiconductor Aluminium-Nitride. Pengalaman pertama mengajar di ITB sebagai dosen LB (1983-1985), menjadi PNS dosen Fisika di Universitas Udayana (1986-2000), tahun 2001 – sekarang PNS dosen Fisika di Universitas Padjadjaran
