Undergraduate Program in Physics

History

The Undergraduate Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padjadjaran University was initiated since the founding of Padjadjaran University in 1957. The Undergraduate Program in Physics began providing education in 1958 after the establishment of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Natural Sciences (FIPIA) which was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia ( Dr.Ir.Soekarno) on 17 November 1959 based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (PP&K RI) Number 102333/S dated 22 October 1958. The name of the Undergraduate Program in Physics was determined through Directorate General of Higher Education Decree No. 217/Dikti/Kep/1996 dated 11 July 1996.

Vision, Mission and Objectives

1. Vision

To become an internationally recognized Physics study program that produces innovative, adaptive graduates based on the noble values of Padjadjaran University and actively contributes to the development of science and technology in academics, industry and research

2. Mission

  1. Providing high-quality physics education, based on research and technology, in the fields of Functional & Advanced Materials, Smart Instrumentations and Data Science, Energy and Environmental Physics, and Medical Physics & Imaging Science.
  2. To deliver education that produces graduates who master the fundamental concepts of physics and are innovative in research and engineering applications.
  3. To deliver education that produces graduates who are adaptive to developments in science and technology, have communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
  4. To embed the values of integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and social responsibility in all academic activities

3. Objectives

  1. To produce excellent and competent graduates in Functional & Advanced Materials, Smart Instrumentations and Data Science, Energy and Environmental Physics, or Medical Physics & Imaging Science who are able to compete at national and international level.
  2. To produce graduates who master the fundamental concepts of physics and are innovative in research and engineering applications.
  3. To produce graduates who are adaptive to the development of science and technology, possess strong communication skills, and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
  4. To produce graduates who have the values of integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and social responsibility in all academic activities.
